8 Rolex High-End Watches and Others For Sale at Watchflix LA

Rolex High End Watches and Other Brands

Here at Watchflix LA, our collection of luxury watches mainly consists of Rolexes for sale, of several models including many high-end Daytonas. Occasionally, we get other high-end watches, of very limited production and highly sought-after models that collectors might be interested in. Before we get started with this list, what exactly are high-end watches?

Like with high-end fashion, or "Haute couture," there are certain watch brands that are specifically deemed as high-end. There’s the holy trinity of three watch brands called “haut de gamme.” Which means high-end, or of the highest quality. This consists of Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantine.

Rolex is not considered to be “haude de gamme”, because, in this instance, it refers to the highest quality of extremely specialized and complex precision craftsmanship (or rather the art of watchmaking) that the three brands mentioned above have. However, Rolex is still high-end in the way that it represents the highest status and quality in materials, gemstones, and parts, rather than complexity in the artistry of watchmaking.

With that out of the way, let’s get started with the 8 best Rolex and other high-end watches for sale at Watchflix LA.

1. Rolex 116506 – Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platinum Ice Blue Dial

The Rolex 116506 Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platinum with an Ice Blue Dial is a notable high-end iconic model in the luxury watch industry for its distinctive ice blue dial and platinum bezel. The cost of the Cosmograph Daytona Platinum is fully explained by two things: The platinum material and the updated calibre 4131 movement mechanical design which consists of 44 jewels (rubies).

Platinum is one of the scarcest, and rarest materials in the world, even rarer than gold and silver, which increases the value of the watch by material alone. The calibre 4131 mechanism that results in its mechanism that measures seconds, minutes, and hours is updated from the 4130, and contains 44 jewels, specifically rubies, which like platinum are some of the rarest luxury materials in the world.

(note: While many watchmakers use synthetic rubies in their watches, which aren’t typically worth much, Rolex claims to use natural, and of the highest quality grade of gemstones in their products.)

As a part of the Oyster Perpetual line, the Rolex 116506 Daytona boasts superior engineering and a rich history of performance under extreme conditions. This watch represents a blend of timeless design and state-of-the-art technology.

2. Rolex 116509 – White Gold Cosmograph Daytona Sodalite Diamond Dial

The Rolex 116509 White Gold Cosmograph Daytona Sodalite with a Diamond Dial, crafted in luxurious white gold is a desirable model that features a sleek sodalite dial, the addition of diamonds, and intricate 4131 movements. Its ceramic bezels ensure durability, adding to its allure as a piece worth investing thousands of dollars.

Although sodalite isn’t a rare or scarce material like platinum, it’s quite rare in luxury watches such as the Rolex 116509. What adds to the high-end status of this watch, is the gold material, the addition of diamonds, along with the rubies embedded in the 4131 mechanism that results in its precise movement.

3. ROLEX 116710BLNR – GMT MASTER II “Batman” – Khanjar, a Sultan of Oman Rolex

The Rolex 116710BLNR GMT Master II (known as the Batman Rolex) is rare and culturally significant as it carries the Khanjar emblem, which is the official royal crest of Oman, and the Sultanate of Oman. Each piece from this series reflects a legendary rich history and is a collector's dream, often fetching prices that reflect its unique heritage and exquisite craftsmanship.

Additionally, the unique design of this model makes the Rolex 116710BLNR known as the “Batman” Rolex due to the black, blue, and grey color schemes, that are reminiscent of Batman's suit (aside from the yellow emblem and belt). Both the Khanjar emblem, the iconic Batman color scheme of the watch, along with the functions of a GMT-Master II result in its high-end market value.

4. Rolex 116500LN “Panda” – Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona

The Rolex 116500LN (known as the Rolex Panda) is popular for its contrasting black and white ceramic bezels and full white dial representing a panda. Like many other Rolex Daytonas, the Rolex Panda model was significantly limited in production compared to non-Daytona Rolex watches and has been discontinued. This scarcity alone is why many Rolex Daytonas are more expensive than other Rolexes.

5. Rolex 126713 – GMT-Master II “Zombie”

The Rolex GMT-Master II 126713 (also known as the Rolex Zombie) features a bidirectional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel, allowing for dual-time display—ideal for the global traveler. Its unique bezel color combination of Oystersteel grey and 18K yellow gold has given it the nickname “Rolex Zombie,” reminiscent of the grey, dead skin of a traditional zombie character, along with the yellow diseased or sickly flesh. It comes with a 3285 calibre movement with 31 jewels.

The difference between the Daytona Rolexes and the GMT-Master II’s (including the Rolex Batman), is that the GMT-Master II has a unique dual-time zone function with the addition of a 24-hour hand. The 24-hour hand is easily recognizable by the triangle-tipped head, which rotates once in a day, rather than twice.

6. Audemars Piguet 15417OR – Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked (ref. 15417OR.ZZ.1267OR.01.A) is the highest-end watch in our collection here at Watchflix LA. This AP model shines beyond all with its openworked dial and solid gold case, revealing the dual balance wheel—an innovation that improves the watch's precision. It’s crafted with 18-carat pink gold and is embedded with 436 baguette-cut diamonds from the bezel to all over the bracelet itself. The dial includes embedded pink gold-toned baguette-cut sapphire hour-markers with visible rubies, further adding to the luxurious value of the watch.

7. Roger Dubuis Excalibur RDDBEX0794 – Canelo AlvarezEdition

A standout in Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur line, the RDDBEX0794 Canelo Alvarez Edition watch showcases an avant-garde approach to watch design. Designed in association with Canelo Alvarez, the world boxing champion, this high-end watch is perfect for those with a fighter’s heart. The leather strap that comes with the Excalibur was made from Canelo Alvarez's boxing gloves themselves, while the watch’s mechanical prowess is visible through the intricate movements displayed on its unique skeleton dial similar to the AP 15417OR.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Canelo Alvarez Edition is limited to 88pcs in the world, making it a possible appreciating asset through scarcity in the market over time.

8. Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle White Gold 4010T/000G-B740

Vacheron Constantin is one of the three in the holy trinity of “haut de gamme” watch brands, which includes Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. A literal translation of the French phrase “haut de gamme” is “high-end,” resulting in the Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Complete Calendar 4010T/000G-B740 in White Gold being on the list.

Along with Vacheron Constantin, possibly being the oldest luxury watch brand in the world, founded in 1755, VC watches are also extremely limited in production compared to Rolex watches. The movement complexity, including the perpetual calendar of the Traditionelle, is on par with the most complex of Rolex watches, along with being all hand-made. Vacheron Constantin watches fully represent the meaning of “vintage-style high-end watches.”
